Cvicek discovered at London International Wine Fair

Good wine at 6% alcohol?!

Cvicek (pronounced "Chiv-a-check") is a low alcohol wine with around 6% alcohol. It is made in the Lower Carniola region of Slovenia.

Made from a variety of grapes including Modra Frankinja, Furmint, Welschriesling, ┼Żametna ?rnina and others, it is usually still or sparkling white or rose, but there are red versions too.

Although we were not so taken with the reds, we loved the whites produced by Rok Cvelbar. A great morning pick-me-up after a heavy session, without too much alcohol.
